In a letter from 09/25/2012 he wrote, "I recently have been contemplating the concept of Return and Report. Being personally countable with our Heavenly Father is key in our progression especially on a day to day basis. I invite you to ponder this idea. Return and report in prayer about things you did well that day and things you can work on...Sorry the MTC forms you into a invitation machine :)

Ryan has been made district leader, which means he is over 11 Elders and Sisters. He wrote last Tuesday 09/26/2012. "Honestly since I have gotten this calling I have been such a blur! Our district needs so much work! So I am seeking the help from none other thank my Heavenly Father! I have received so much revelation. It's wild. If you want to receive revelation like a waterfall into a single glass, put others in front of yourself, especially when you have a leadership role and give it your!" Needless to say, Ryan is doing well and keeping VERY BUSY!

Sometimes Ryan just needs a break from his studying to goof off.

Ryan has told me that he has already gained 6 lbs! I can't decide if it is from the unlimited amount of chocolate milk I am sure he is consuming or from him working out with a Tongan everyday!

Ryan wrote in one of his letters from 09/15/2012, " One of the teachers have a plaque in their room that says: ' Missionary: One that leaves his/her friends and family for a short time so other people can live with their family forever.' ....Serving the Lord is the best thing you will ever do. I could be doing anything right now, but I am on a mission to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to testify to as many people ass will hear my voice that I know the Book of Mormon is true. 1 Corinthians 13:11 reads, 'When I was a child, I spake as a child: but when I became a man, I put the childish things away.' Our branch president asked us to replace man with missionary. This a big statement that helps us to be great missionaries. However, I decided to take this just one step further. Mine you this is a lifelong goal, but I have been taking it seriously. In striving to be more like our Savior, Jesus Christ we can use his name and strive to fulfill it. 'I will speak as Christ would, I will understand as Christ does, I will think as Christ would. Keep in mind that I am not saying I am perfect at it, but I will try my very best. Elder Bednar said we become most like Christ when we resist the 'natural man' in us to act for ourselves."

Ryan wrote in one of his letters from 09/20/2012- " Holy Cow, today was a spirit powerhouse! Everyday here is a miracle but certain days I have a crazy humbling experience. Like today, I began to soak in the fact that this is literally the most important calling a person can have! We are literally representatives of Jesus Christ, let that sink in a little! I realize that I need him more than ever to do this.
Mosiah 27:36-37
'And thus they were instruments in the hands of God in bringing many to the knowledge of their Redeemer. And how blessed are they for they did publish peace; they did publish good tidings of good and they did declare unto the people that the Lord reigneth!'
I know that missionary work is real. The church is real. I have witnessed it in so many ways!

I know that the church of Jesus Christ is true.
I know that the Book of Mormon is true.
I know that Jesus Christ is God's son.
I know that Jesus Christ Atoned for all of our sins!
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Ryan wrote  in one of his letters on September 09/09/2012, "My purpose as a missionary is becoming ingrained on my heart. It feels like it is the very bane of my existence  In  'Preach my Gospel' it says our purpose is the 'invite others to come unto Christ, by helping them receive the restored gospel through the atonement of Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.' What an incredible call...Convert yourself fully to the Gospel EVERYDAY. Elder Holland says it perfectly, 'We must be our very first convert on our mission.' I testify that this is true! We will be able to relate to people if we convert ourselves and be obedient to all the commandments. I want to share a poem Elder Holland used in an address to the MTC 4 or 5 years ago.

'Come to the edge he said, no I will fall.
Come to the edge he said, no I will fall.
So he came to the edge, he pushed us and we flew'
I bear witness to you that if you go to the edge. IF you push yourself until you are going to drop, Jesus Christ will pick you up and you will fly! Our road will be so far from easy because his road was not easy! If you endure it you will be bless!

Ryan has quickly caught on to the lifestyle of being a Missionary! He wrote:

"Hey Everyone!

Life here at the MTC has been busy but fabulous! I have been able to feel the love of my Father in Heaven as I have been studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ! I am studying a language called Tagalog, and it is super difficult! I am amazingly picking it up very quickly! What an incredible blessing! I am constantly thinking and praying about my family and friends at home! We have been teaching an investigator named Christian, he is from Manila (Capital of the Philippines!). He is learning so much and is being taught gospel truths and principles through the Holy Spirit! He is awesome!
On another note, I can use any and all thoughts and prayers! Our schedule is super busy and taxing!
Thank you for all your support!
